First, the material has to be found, examined and understood. Every piece of wood has a different grain, hardness, shape and history.

Unlike industrial production, the aim is not to create hundreds of perfectly identical pieces. Handcraft makes it possible to respond to the particular material. A curved branch can determine the shape of the finished piece, while the natural structure of the wood can remain a visible part of it.

The work itself requires patience. Sometimes the original idea has to be changed and adapted to what the material allows. The finished object therefore takes shape gradually.

The wood also does not have to come from a healthy tree that has been felled. Branches produced through routine garden care, fallen wood or offcuts that would otherwise go unused can all be used.

It is precisely the combination of natural material, usefulness and the visible trace of human work that gives handmade objects their character.

Práce se dřevem a dalšími přírodními materiály začíná dávno před okamžikem, kdy vznikne hotový výrobek.
